What we collect
- Hosts: name, phone number, email (optional), listing details, street address (optional), photos and the time you agreed to our Terms and Host Standards.
- Guests: name, phone number, email (optional), booking dates, number of guests, messages to hosts and the time you agreed to our Terms.
- Messages sent through HeimStay between hosts and guests.
- Basic technical data our hosting provider records when you visit (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested), used for security and to keep the site working.
How we use it
- to run HeimStay: show listings, pass booking requests and messages between hosts and guests, and let hosts manage their listings;
- to contact you about your listing, booking or account;
- to keep HeimStay safe: prevent fraud, spam and bookings outside the site, and handle complaints;
- to follow the law.
What others can see
Your phone number and email are never shown publicly or to other users. Hosts and guests talk through HeimStay messaging. A listing's public page shows its photos, description, host first name and location. The exact street address appears on the map only if the host chooses to show it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run HeimStay (for example hosting, data storage and email delivery), when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and HeimStay. Listing pages show a map from Google Maps, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
HeimStay does not use advertising cookies or ad trackers. Your browser may store private links to your messages and your host dashboard on your own device so you can return to them.
How long we keep it
We keep listings, bookings and messages while your listing or booking is active and for as long as needed for the purposes above, our records and the law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or to remove your listing, by writing to hello@heimstays.com. HeimStay is not meant for children under 18.
